Business Development Affiliate of the National Association of Community Health Centers

Alexandria, VA -- February 18, 2014 - HemoCue America announced today that it has entered into a new group-purchasing agreement with Community Health Ventures (CHV), the business development affiliate of the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC). NACHC represents the voice of over 1200 health centers located in more than 9,000 service delivery locations. The new agreement allows CHV’s Value in Purchasing (ViP) program members to access special pricing and terms pre-negotiated by CHV for HemoCue’s products.

HemoCue is one of the leading organizations in the development, manufacturing and marketing of professional point-of-care diagnostics systems. HemoCue’s products have the ability to perform common blood and urine tests at the point-of-care without sacrificing the accuracy and precision offered by a central clinical laboratory. The company’s current core business includes three main product lines: hematology testing; including tests for hemoglobin and white blood count testing, professional glucose testing and a new product line addressing the market for urine albumin testing. HemoCue products will be available to CHV’s U.S. customer base of Community Health Centers, which serve the primary health care needs of more than 22 million patients across the country.

“Our focus on a day to day basis is to develop and strengthen partnerships with the vendor community that demonstrate they can provide a benefit to health centers in some way,” said Gwen Siebert, CHV’s Chief Operating Officer. “Whether that benefit comes in the form of lower prices on the products used by health centers or by expanding our contract formularies to include new product lines, CHV is constantly working to identify those opportunities. CHV, and most importantly health centers, have found just such an opportunity with our partnership with HemoCue.”
